Our History

At JWP, all of our solicitors are specialists in their fields, so you can have confidence you'll receive the best legal representation possible.

Formed in 2000, JWP Solicitors has quickly established itself as a provider of premium legal services. Our head office is based in a former wool staplers. The building has been completely refurbished, affording a spacious, relaxing and calm environment for the benefit of both clients and members of staff alike.

Our offices became the first Solicitors Practice on Cheapside which is now renowned as being the place to find solicitors and other professional practices in Wakefield. As our reputation for quality continues to grow we have expanded and opened offices in Pontefract, Leeds, Batley, Hemsworth and Huddersfield.

Our Costs

We are conscious of the expense of legal proceedings to our clients and we do our very best to give you choice and value when paying for our services.

Hourly Rate

We charge an hourly rate for our services. We will do our utmost to provide you with accurate estimates to the likely cost of your case, however they are only estimates. We will always keep costs under review so that you can keep track of your expenditure and we will submit regular bills so that you are not faced with a large final amount at the end of the case. We do ask for payment to be made as and when bills are delivered. Sometimes however, some initial advice is all that is required and this can limit the expense to you and your family.

Fixed Prices

As well as the traditional hourly rate we also have a comprehensive range of fixed prices within our family and matrimonial department so you can choose how you want to pay for our services.
