Care fees vs helping the "Boomerang Generation"
In the run up to the election the National Housing Federation has warned that the older generation will soon face the dilemma of care costs in old age and additional pressure to help the next generation get on the housing ladder.
The federation's report emphasises the national shortage of affordable housing and calls on would be MPs to help people get on the housing ladder without parents having to dip into their own equity and savings.
Changes to Care Funding are due to be implemented next year but with an ageing population and greater demands on government resources the situation is likely to worsen rather than improve.
