I joined JWP Solicitors as a Trainee in March 2015 and I have survived… I shall therefore qualify as a Solicitor on 1st September 2016!
When I began my training I had no idea whatsoever what to expect, as much as you can talk to other trainee’s about their experience you do not know really what’s going to happen until you start. When I think back to my initial few months I recall sheer panic, late nights but most importantly a real sense of achievement.
Having studied at University for 4 years it is very satisfying to finally put into practice everything that I had been taught. When I joined JWP my passion was in Family Law and I anticipated that I would qualify and progress into the land of Private Family work. The reality is that as of 1st September I shall take up my new post as a Solicitor in the Public Children Care department working from JWP's new (as of March 2016) Leeds office and I really couldn’t be happier.
My advice to all those determined paralegals/hopeful trainees that are out there would be to persevere and I promise you, it will all be worth it !
