The Great JWP Bake Off
JWP Solicitors are taking part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning. The first one will take place at our Pontefract Office on Thursday 24th September between 9:00am and 1:00pm and then at our Wakefield office on Friday 25th September 2015 10:00am until 4:00pm (or until we run out of cakes!). To make it a little more fun and add a spice of competition our Pontefract and Wakefield offices will be holding a ‘Bake Off’ to see which office will win the coveted title for the 'Best Bun or Cake' and also to see which office raises the most money for Macmillan.
The Coffee Morning is a way of raising money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is a fantastic charity that aims to improve the lives of people living with cancer, as well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer. Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK. The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, they did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £138 million for Macmillan.
There will be a business card raffle at the Pontefract Office and local businesses have been invited to network and help raise money for Macmillan. It is a great opportunity to meet new people and promote your business over a cuppa and a cake. Please come along to either (or both) of our mornings and taste some of our delightful cakes!
