Welcome To The Team Phoebe
Building a focussed team of highly capable individuals is key to our plans for the future, and Phoebe is one of two new recruits for us this month.
Phoebe Walsh joins as a trainee Solicitor, having worked with us most months during her University studies to build her practical experience. Her first stint will be working in the family team in Wakefield, before moving on to gain experience in other specialisms.
She graduated with a degree in Law from Sheffield Hallam University in 2018. She then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course (LPC), along with a Masters in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law in Leeds. She was a member of the Law Clinic whilst undertaking her undergraduate degree in Sheffield, which allowed her to gain insight to the law in practice, offering advice to members of the public.
Phoebe also gained an Internship in a large civil rights firm in Chicago, US, helping those wrongfully convicted to be exonerated, and helping those who had been subject to police brutality to make a claim against the state. What a fascinating introduction to criminal law, one of her favoured areas!
Hailing from Huddersfield, she’s a lover of a wide range of sports. In particular, she’s played Netball for Yorkshire, at University, and currently plays for a Huddersfield team. She also loves skiing and suporting rugby league, football and cricket. We think that competitiveness if going to serve her very well here at JWP!
When not indulging her love of sports, she enjoys making the most of Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside, helped by her crazy springer spaniel dogs Dougie and Albert.
Phoebe is excited to gain a wealth of further practical experience across a wide range of specialisms, in particular family, care and crime.
